JPG · PNG · WEBP · HEIC — files never leave your browser
Pick your photo, crop it, and the editor fills the canvas with a clean yellow background. The result is downloadable as JPG, PNG or WebP. For best results use a photo with an existing simple background — or click \"Remove background\" first to swap it cleanly.
When you need a yellow background
Yellow is the required background for several Chinese government documents, including some visa categories and certain residence permits. It also appears on a handful of corporate badge specs.
How the yellow background is applied
The canvas is filled with a flat yellow color first, then your cropped photo is drawn on top. If your source photo already has a clean background you can skip background removal — the existing background simply gets replaced when you crop tighter. For photos with a busy or contrasting backdrop, click "Remove background" first; an in-browser AI model isolates the subject so the yellowfill shows through cleanly behind your shoulders.
Authority requirements
Different authorities define background color slightly differently — some accept "off-white", others require a specific brightness range, and a few specify exact RGB values. Our country-specific guides (linked under passport sizes) link the official source for each spec so you can match the required value exactly.
How to use this page
- Drop your photo above.
- The background is already set to yellow.
- Optionally click "Remove background" for a clean cut-out.

Privacy
Every step happens inside the browser tab you have open. Your image is decoded, cropped and re-encoded by the same JavaScript engine that runs this page — there is no upload, no temporary file on a server, and no "processed copy" cached by us afterwards. When you close the tab, the blob is gone. We document the full pipeline on our Methodology and How it works pages.
FAQ
Why a yellow background?
Can I keep the background transparent instead?
Is anything uploaded?
Will the yellow fill match the official spec?
The fill color is a flat, solid yellow. Most authority specs allow a tolerance range; the rendered RGB is documented on each country page. If you need an exact custom RGB, switch the background mode to "Custom" inside the editor.
What happens to my image after I close the tab?
It is freed from your browser's memory like any other image you opened. We never received it, so we have nothing to delete on our side. See Trust & Safety for the full policy.
